Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names such as: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machine while they lift and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can work in smaller aisles. They are extremely handy pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
