When the time comes to select the proper warehouse truck, it is a good idea to figure out how high you intend to raise your cargo, how much you have to lift, how much space you have to work in and how far you want to travel. These factors will influence your purchasing decision and help decipher which forklift truck is the best one out there to meet all your requirements and meet your overall expectations.
Normal Aisles
The most inexpensive trucks are pedestrian stackers. These machinery are great for working in standard width aisles and finishing ordinary stacking jobs in a warehouse. They can easily lift loads of less than 750kg and could stack them to heights of roughly 4.5 metres. A different model called rider stackers could successfully raise cargo to approximately 6 metres.
Reach trucks are yet a different option to think about. They give you much greater lift and load capacities and several models come complete with telescopic forks. This feature allows you the ability of stacking pallets two deep. For added flexibility in handling goods, there is a multi-way and a 4-way reach truck that as the name implies, could be driven in four directions. These models are specifically best for handling large and long things like for example planks, boards and piping.
The counterbalance line of trucks is suitable for traveling longer distances. They are a good choice for stacking jobs, specially block stacking. They are also a great choice for free stacking and stacking cargo which weigh more than 2 tonnes.
A Tight Squeeze
The aisle space in a high-density storage operation would typically be a lot narrower, whilst the heights could be somewhat higher as well. The Man-up telescopic lift trucks are best used in narrow aisle, high-bay stores. They offer the operator or driver a good view of the stacking process. There are other kinds known as man-up combi trucks. These are quite versatile in that they could be used for both order- picking and stacking tasks. They can be driven throughout the warehouse or used in narrow aisles.
